12/25/2003 Entry: "New HP5065A Run"
We had a power failure last weekend, and it outlasted the UPS so the frequency standards cooled down a bit. They've been running again for several days so I started a new LORAN-C run today against the HP5065A -- the start time for offset calculation is 25 Dec. 2003 1540 UTC. I'm seeing a higher noise number (200 - 300) on the LORAN receiver than in the past, though the signal strength is still good. The noise may be from new gear running in the rack. The receiver time constant is set to 0 (3200 GRI). I'm going to let the receiver settle down for a bit and will then start logging data.
I'll be shutting things down again in a week or so to rewire the power distribution in the rack, so this run will be useful to see what frequency shift the restart causes.
