02/05/2006 Entry: "Details of new cable runs"
I am moving the Cs standards (and maybe the Rb) to a new rack that is located at the opposite end of my basement from the other gear. This is because (a) the temperature stability might be better there, and (b) there isn't room for another rack in my main lab space.
To bring the signals back to the lab, I am running 8 pieces of LMR-240 coax, each about 55 feet long. After building the cables, I measured the delay using HP5370 counter. Here are the results:
1 -- 66.872ns 2 -- 66.606ns 3 -- 66.749ns 4 -- 66.827ns
5 -- 66.749ns 6 -- 66.779ns 7 -- 66.841ns 8 -- 66.679ns
