Subject: UPDATED - License Exams on New Years Eve at Resolution Run
An Open Test Session for all classes of Amateur Radio License will be
conducted THURSDAY - NEW YEARS EVE, 12/31 at 5:00pm in the Training Room at
Beavercreek Township Fire Station 1. Registration will begin at 5:00 PM and
testing will begin shortly thereafter. Walk-ins are welcome.
Pre-registration is not required. For additional information, contact
George Ewing, WD8NHI, by email at ewingg at gmail.com or by phone at
937-231-6675 between 11 AM and 8 PM.
DIRECTIONS

The Beavercreek Township Fire Station 1 is located at 2195 Dayton-Xenia
Road, just west of Orchard Lane. From US35, the Orchard Lane intersection
is the second traffic light east of I-675 (also, the second traffic east of
Fairfield Road) and the second traffic light west of the Xenia By-pass.
Dayton-Xenia Road is appx 1/2 mile north of US-35. From Orchard Lane, turn
Left (West) on Dayton-Xenia Road and the Fire Station will be the first
driveway on the left. Parking is located at the west end of the building.
Entrance to the Training Room is located on the back side at the west end.
Look for and follow the Sheriff Substation signs. A few steps are involved
but an alternate ground level entrance is available. If ground level access
is needed, please contact us for further information.

SPECIAL LICENSING OPPORTUNITY - come take an exam or upgrade on New Years
Eve. You can also do a public service event then go to a party!!
The DARA VE team will give exams for technician, general and extra class
licenses this THURSDAY - NEW YEARS EVE, 12/31 at 5:00pm.
Exams will be held at the Beavercreek Township Fire Station 1
There is no fee.
Applicants need to show us a government issued photo ID (i.e. driver's
license, passport, etc).
Applicants upgrading their current amateur license need to bring the
ORIGINAL of that license for us to see and a photocopy for us to file.
Applicants brining any other paperwork for credit need to bring a photocopy
for us to file.
To submit results to the FCC, we must have either your Social Security
Number (SSN) or FCC Registration Number (FRN). Amateur radio licenses issued
within the past several years display the FRN. If you don't have a FRN and
would prefer to not provide your SSN, you may visit the FCC website at
http://www.fcc.gov/uls
and apply for a FRN in advance.

There's no better way to bring in the New Year than the Beavercreek High
School 5K Resolution Run!! This annual event is a GREAT TIME!! 30 plus
operators are needed to provide health/safety communications and to
illuminate the course with their car headlights. The race begins at 8pm
again this year with operators asked to report by 7pm. However everyone is
invited to come out earlier for some pre-event festivities! Assorted food
will be available in the XWARN Trailer along with some great friends. Come
out and enjoy!
Net Control will be on the 147.165 (100hz PL) XWARN Repeater as our PRIMARY
NET CONTROL FREQUENCY. Our backup frequency will be 147.570 SIMPLEX.
Also AFTER the Resolution Run, Nancy Krodel,KC8RMT and Mike Buehler, N8XGA
will be having their annual New Years Eve Party at their house and EVERYONE
is invited over there for some great food and friends as well!
So Grab your calendar and mark down the Resolution Run & Party as your plans
for New Years Eve!!
