Subject: 2006 IARU HF Championship Contest - NU1AW/8

This coming weekend is the IARU HF Championship Contest. The contest
period starts at 8:00 a.m. EDT (1200 Z) Saturday morning and runs for 24
hours straight to 8:00 a.m. EDT (1200 Z) Sunday morning.

What makes this contest special is that the host station(s) for NU1AW/8
are located in Michigan and Ohio - which is a BIG plus for these ARRL
Sections, and a boost to Amateur Radio Contesting in the region. The
stations are setup and ready to go. This effort is a joint venture
between Mad River Radio Club and North Coast Contesting Club, which
consists of 2 host stations operating from Ohio, and 2 host stations
operating from MI. All host stations will be linked together via the
Internet for actual logging content to be seen by all the host operators
throughout the contest period.

The host stations for NU1AW/8 are:

K8CC Ypsilanti, MI
K8AZ Cumberland, OH
KW8N Ridgeville, OH
N8CC Nashville, MI

They all will be using the call NU1AW/8, and will operate on all bands, 160
thru 10 Metres, except for the WARC bands. These host stations are
looking forward to working as many Ohio and Michigan stations as
possible this weekend. The host stations can be worked on both modes
SSB, and CW for a total of 12 contacts.

Whether your doing a full time or part time effort, please get on, have
some fun, and good luck to all operators this weekend.
