To All Area Amateurs:

SATERN has scaled back their operations to only daytime 20m schedules
with stations in Haiti. Additionally some infrastructure is now
starting to come back in the outlying areas. Father John, HH6JH, for
instance now has service on his cell phone and is able to communicate.
Due to this I discussed with Dave Kalter KB8OCP and we are in agreement
that we will not need further staffing at the DARA B-Road for this
operation. There are a multitude of operators on from around the
country and beyond in the daytime on the 20m nets. SATERN will continue
to operate their 20m net in the daytime and will be monitoring their 40m
and 75m frequencies. Anyone who wishes to monitor the nets on 20m is
more than welcome we are just not going to be scheduling staffing at
B-Road for this operation.

In light of this a big thanks is due to the 33 area hams who pitched in
to help maintain 24 hour staffing at B-Road for just over 7 days. We
had W8BI in operation for 177.3 hours for a total of 497.2 man hours.
Also a big thanks to Dave Kalter KB8OCP for his dedication to operations
and his endless hours of actually being at B-Road.
