As previously announced, this week is Severe Weather Awareness Week in Ohio.  The Ohio statewide tornado drill will occur on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at approximately 9:50 AM.  Amateur Radio Operators should check into their respective local weather net.  A summary of weather net activities will be reported to the NWS.  Hams in surrounding states living in counties adjacent to Ohio also are welcome to participate in Ohio nets.

All hams in and around Greene County are encouraged to participate in the Greene County Skywarn Net to be conducted on Wednesday March 24th beginning at 0950 on the Greene County Primary Emergency Alerting & Information Frequency and Weather Net Frequency of 147.165 with a PL of 100.0 Hz.  Backup frequency for Wednesday's net will be the Greene County ARES 146.910 repeater (no PL).

As a reminder, Greene County Emergency Management Agency in conjunction with the Wilmington National Weather Service Office will be holding a Weather Spotters Class on Monday, March 29, 6:30-8:30 PM at the Greene County Media Room on Ledbetter Road (east off US-42 south of Xenia just north of US-35--formerly US-35 By-Pass).
