[mvarbb] Two Events This Weekend Need Volunteers

SATURDAY
On Saturday, October 10, 2009 at the Beavercreek Fire Station One at the corner of Dayton Xenia Road and Orchard Lane (2195 Dayton-Xenia Rd)  is the annual Beavercreek Fire Department Open House.   The open house is from 10am to 1pm and is a GREAT TIME!  Many displays are on-hand!  Both the Dara Communications Van and the XWARN Communications Trailer will be on-hand to demonstrate the many aspests of Amateur Radio.  5 or so volunteers are needed to talk with the general public about Amateur Radio and its many capabilities.  




SUNDAY
On Sunday October 16th at the Beavercreek Church of the Brethren 2659 Dayton Xenia Rd Beavercreek (across the street from Beavercreek High School)  CUB SCOUT PACK 68 will be particpating in JOTA (Jamboree On The Air)  Both the XWARN Trailer and the DARA Communications Van will be at the event promoting Amatuer Radio to the kids.  This is a GREAT opportunity to get youth interested in Amatuer Radio.  We need a few Amatuer Radio Operators to demo and guide the cub scouts into this exciting hobby!  The  event is planned from 1-4pm.
