Hi All --

The ARRL Frequency Measuring Test is coming up on Wednesday, November
16th. As usual, I'll be hosting an FMT party at my place -- I'll
provide frequency standards, lousy antennas, bench space, and snacks;
you provide your measuring gear.

The test runs from 9:45PM to about 10:00; folks will probably want to
arrive at 8:00 or earlier to get things warmed up. In addition, if
anyone wants to set up ahead of time, we can have a work party on
Saturday or Sunday next week; I'm pretty open as to time, so just let me
know.

Details of the test are at
http://www.arrl.org/w1aw/fmt/2005/05fmtsilver.pdf. The format is the
same as last year -- W1AW will transmit an SSB signal on an announced
frequency, modulated with a single tone; what you're supposed to report
is the audio frequency of the tone. The frequencies will be 160/80/40
(which is different than last year -- they dropped 20 and added 160,
which is probably better for us).

Please let me know if you'd like to participate, and if you'd like to
have a weekend setup/work session.

73,
John
