Pete,

You can use a 102" CB whip and an off-the-shelf LORAN preamp for the
FS700.  
That's roughly equivalent to what SRS shipped with the unit.
 
I am using the much more compact LF Engineering H-900 Gain Probe Antenna

( http://www.grove-ent.com/h900.html ).  It works brilliantly with the
FS700.
The cheaper H-800 would probably do just as well in most cases.
