[time-nuts] Failure mode in GPS receivers

Before doing all sorts of crazy tests, cable checks, and hours on end
googling for info...

Why not just hook up another antenna directly to the unit that you know is
good? I have a couple spares sitting in a drawer that I use for testing
only. They are just those cheap ones you find everyone selling on eBay. I
can just stick one in the window and away I go. If that fails then you know
it's something with your GPS unit and have eliminated the cable, splitter,
and antenna.

If it does work then just start working the problem one part at a time. I
had an issue one time, where a simple resistance test showed me that I was
getting a million+ ohms along my cable, turned out something happened to the
connector going to the antenna, replaced the connector and all was great.
