[time-nuts] Prologix GPIB/USB converter help...

Hello,

Few points to consider while setting up the Prologix GPIB-USB controller:

1.	All commands to the Prologix controller MUST be terminated by LF
(character 0x0A).
2.	4.x versions do NOT care about serial port parameters. Other than
the port number, of course.
3.	3.x versions require the serial port to be configured as
115200-8-N-1 with RTS/CTS (aka hardware) flow control. The flow control is
essential to avoid data corruption. A less elegant (and less reliable)
solution is to add delays between commands.
4.	On startup the controller takes about 5 seconds to initialize,
during which time both TALK and LISTEN leds are lit. This delay is required
to complete USB enumeration and handle some vagaries of the FTDI USB chip.
After connecting USB, wait for 5 seconds before sending any commands.

I agree, the website needs an update. It should be happening soon.

Meanwhile, please feel free to email support at prologix.biz with questions.

Regards,

Abdul
