I have not used any free programs but TAC32 has lots of features not bad for $55 US for members of TAPR. http://www.tapr.org/gps_tac32.html
At $20 why not just get a new key http://www.visualgps.net/NMEATime/ ? An email to ask about your key would be free and they may have a record of your previous key.
I like the program but it is quiting about once a week and needs to be restarted may be the old OS windows 2000 I have it running on.
