For a cheap thrill,  check out the parts for the HP8482A (and other) power sensors.   They will sell you a tube of Loctite thread locker for the amazingly cheap price of $145  (not a misprint,  a different one is offered for $57).

It was only $3 or $4 for the $0.10 part but it put it back in 'original' condition.
