Mike,

Yes the commercial units only check every so often.  That is a function of the
processor that is controlling the display and NOT specifically the receiver portion.

The point is that you could have the receiver AND also have a display too boot for
little extra money !  You can always go inside and connect to the receiver for your own
purposes.
