Hello Richard,
customer support is very dear to us, and we hope to be doing a better job
than some of the other companies out there.. We will do our best to support
our products long into the future.
Unfortunately with the CSAC being a brand new bleeding-edge technology it
may take some time for these products to reach $250 pricing levels, but then
again Thunderbolts and LPRO's also used to cost much more than $1000 at
some point..
For initial support we have posted the first version of the CSAC GPSDO
user manual on our website, under:
_http://www.jackson-labs.com/docs.html_
(http://www.jackson-labs.com/docs.html)
There is also a preliminary specsheet available if you click on the CSAC
GPSDO picture on our home-page.
bye,
Said

Hi Said,
I hope Jackson Labs will provide better documentation and support
for this product than what is typically available from Symmetricom.
Especially maintaining support and documentation availability later
in product life when the units go surplus to second-hand users at a
price that an amateur Time-Nut can afford. It looks like a very nice
unit that any Time-Nut would find highly desirable. Once the price
comes down to say $250 each I'm sure there would be great interest
in a Time-Nuts group buy, but that will probably be far in the
future.
Richard
Hi guys,
fyi, this morning we announced the brand new CSAC GPSDO by
Jackson Labs
Technologies and Symmetricom.

It is software compatible to our FireFly units, but has a
couple of unique
features:
* Extremely low aging, thermal-, and g-sensitivity (about
10x better
than a typical DOCXO)
* less than 2us drift per day during holdover
* less than 2 minute warmup to spec
* less than 1W power consumption (CMOS output option)
* built-in distribution amplifier for 10MHz, and 5MHz
outputs
* Phase Noise cleanup filter
* 8V to 36V power supply for 12V or 24V vehicles
* Can be operated and controlled from USB port or RS-232
port
* GPSCon compatible
* 0.5 inch component height, <0.7 inches overall height
It will be a bit more expensive than legacy GPSDO's in the
beginning as
production ramps up, but pricing should come down later.
bye,
Said
