Another economical  way to auto regulate your AC voltage is using servo
motor voltage regulators.
 
They are a bit strange but the ones I’ve seen seem
to work well, even the cheap ones from China.  But do check that they have a fuse.  They also have a trimming pot inside if you want to make a small
adjustment.  BUT IF YOU DO remember that
these are auto-transformers and they are not isolated. so use due caution.
