[time-nuts] Z3801A and Z38XX Issues

You need the null modem adapter which reverses the TX and RX lines on 
one end of the cable. Also not all USB to Serial adapters work.. I 
bought an old laptop with a real serial port  at a junk computer shop 
for not much more than USB adapter to solve the RS-232 problem
