Hi Stephen,
 
there is an article in the latest IEEE UFFC proceedings. It talks about the  
differences between crystal versus amp induced noise in Quartz oscillators, 
and  discusses Leeson etc.
 
It's called "Phase noise in Ultra low noise quartz oscillators" or  something 
similar.
