[time-nuts] iCruze Monitor Dead

Hi!

According to its datasheet the 8051 used by ko4bb is a 3.3V
part and there is a 3 pin part on fluke's pcb. This ought to
be a 3.3V linear regulator. The regulator should not die
at 6V, so the 8051 behind it should be fine too...

The LCD runs at 5V directly from power supply input.

Some (most?) display controllers show lines of black squares
when powered up and before initialised by a µcontroller.

You don't see anything on the display, so best guess is the
lcd controller (under that black stuff) is fried. :(

A picture of the component side of fluke's pcb might reveal
some other parts too, but i doubt it.

Maybe you can buy another cheap icruze and exchange the new
small pcb?

Hope you hava a nice day anyway!
