Gold is your friend. Mercury has convective losses because it's a 
liquid.  Platinum or Osmium would also be ok.

You might want something that is dense but lower conductivity.. lead? 
Depleted Uranium? (DU is available very cheaply if you can take 80,000 
pound lots)
