The real question is what exactly can you get for how many dollars?

Old GPS cards aren't as good as the newer ones. There is a series of parts out there that are derivatives of the original Oncore's, Res-T's, and uBlox. The newer ones generally are more sensitive, track more sat's , and deliver better timing. In all cases you want the timing versions of the receivers. 

I believe the current "best deal" is the Oncore clone you get by calling up Synergy

And mentioning Time Nuts. That's *assuming* they are still running the $39(?) deal.
